I have started this project in 2008 with the intention to build a show car, not to compete in any form of motorsport. Nonetheless, the car will be endorsed with a number of performance parts and other alterations. These will include discs all round, adjustable everything, lowered as far as possible, 6"x13" Revolution wheels at the front and 7"x13" at the back, and of course loads of power from the fuel injection system. The engine will be sitting on an Escort converted front end and will deliver it's power through a Type 9 gearbox, chromoly prop-shaft and an uprated english rear axle.

As far as appearance goes, the body will undergo only minimal changes and will be kept looking as stock as possible. I am planning on a green color, either the standard green or else a dark shade of british racing green. Due to the lack of leg space there will be for the rear seat, the car will be left as a two seater and thus loosing the weight of the bulky rear seat. The finished product should be a fast, oldschool looking, street legal vehicle which will see sunlight as often as possible.

A little geography; this project is taking place in Malta, which on the atlas appears as a tiny dot in the middle of the Mediterranean. This island is a goldmine for classic cars, and it is not a rare occasion to come across cars like mk1 & mk2 Escorts, Morris 1000, Austin 1100, mk2 Cortinas and old Fiats which are still used as a daily car (I myself drive a 1971 Vauxhall Viva HC to work).

Not surprisingly, there is a large number of car enthusiasts and local automotive clubs for all kinds of vehicles and motorsports. The sunny weather which is present for most of the year makes possible a large number of relentless activities. And when there are no events going on, be sure that all sorts of classics will be showing off during the Sunday morning drive by the sea side (unless it is raining, of course!).
